2010 was an amazing year for me. It started off with failing a physical at the tender age of 33. My blood pressure was through the roof and my doctor wanted to give me medicine. I thought NO WAY! I'm 'arfin' 33 years old, that's crazy. Plus, I didn't want to take a pill where my symptoms would be masked giving me the perfect excuse to keep doing whatever stupid habit I was doing which caused the problems in the first place. Damn us humans, our "human condition" is unbelievably lame! I say that without looking from a distance, I say it being intertwined within it like everyone else.

So, I immediately began tracking my food intake. I realized that my diet had far too many calories and my sodium levels where around 4000-5000mg of daily intake! YIPES! Thus, I "woke up and smelled the cement." I started a regular exercise regimen and ate better. Go figure, diet and exercise. Did I mention "Human Condition?" LOL. My doctor and I also found out that my Vitamin D and Potassium was extremely low and my Magnesium was in the lower region of normal. So, I researched supplements and now take a very basic, but effective (and Dr. approved) regimen. I also changed my diet to include the nutrients necessary rather than, again, taking a pill and keeping my crappy habits.

Come September I had lost 40lbs, my BP was back to where it was since I was 17 and I was able to do things physically that I hadn't been able to in years! (Come to later figure out, it depends on the temperature what my knees can and cannot handle). I was actively dating and meeting great new people. I HAD ACTUALLY KEPT MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION!! WOOT!

So, kick ass! I was having an amazing year so far. But, suddenly things became blurry. Not until the beginning of the New Year did things come back into focus. Not necessarily for a bad reason, but for a reason where those who came in and out of my life from September to December met the opposite of me.

Since birth, I have always had this heart thing where it would race, without warning most times, for no reason at all. Sometimes, I would throw PVC's. Both symptoms have always scared the crap out of me. This fear obviously would make it worse and last longer by causing an adrenaline rush. I went to doctor's and had numerous tests as well as landing in the ER where I was in trigeminy. All was found to be benign. But, I had found a medicine that really helped with the symptoms and lessoned them massively. It was a med that I had no problem taking everyday so as to not experience that hell. Plus, nothing else had worked.

Now, fast forward again to September/October 2010. Figuring out the levels of Potassium and Magnesium and changing my diet had virtually stopped all symptoms that I had with my heart! Plus, adding Vitamin D, I felt better than I had in a long time! I love my doctor and she and I had teamed up to make a life altering change for the better in me! I wish all those other doctor's had been keen to check my blood for those issues long ago. So, with all of this fantastic news and experiences, I thought "hmmm, maybe I don't need to take 'that' medicine anymore which helped with my heart symptoms in the first place!" To me, it made complete sense... and how awesome would it be to get off of a daily medication! Right on, right? ... Well, wrong. And I didn't realize it till very late. I went cold turkey off of this med. Little did I know that you weren't supposed to do that at all! I really didn't notice it as it was a gradual decline, but I went into a deep depression (yes, side-effect of cold turkey). I was jaded, pessimistic and overly-sensitive.

In the middle of December, It took a couple of friends of mine to sit me down and figuratively kick me in my head! I had left a trail of contempt behind me and wasn't fun to be around. So, I did my best to clear my head and realized they were right. I had stopped all of the beneficial health habits I had picked up and gained 5lbs back. I was eating crap, feeling like crap, and was numb to everything. I was feeling nothing at all. So, one of my best friends, Todd, and I talked and were able to ascertain the one constant was the medication. I was hopeful that conclusion was to solve this problem. But, I had to make sure. I realized that there were some amazing people I had met, some I dated, some potential good friends and some old friends I had burned. So, if it wasn't the meds and it was something else, I didn't want to make the situations worse by jumping the gun and starting my apologizing tour of 2010 too early. I knew that I had to be on the medication again for at least 2-weeks to a month for things to take affect and for me to ascertain whether it truly solved the problem.

Well, here I am within the time frame and the fog I had waded through in pain has lifted. Again, with the help from amazing friends, we had figured it out. And, with this perspective, I have learned an amazing amount about my actions and regrets I have from them. So, as 2011 has taken its reign, I know I need to try to put things right as much as I possibly can. Thus, onwards I will now go. Wish me luck!

UPDATE:
What is great about this post is I wrote the above in late December/early January. But, I had to wait until my Sam Beckett approach to trying to put right that which once went wrong came to a conclusion. Since then, I have been extremely lucky to at least put rights to many of those who I affected. Some, not so much... but that's life and in the scope of things, this is just a blip. It's funny, I think I did my own 12 step program! hehe. Again, I quote my great friend Kyle... "seconds after the darkest of nights, is the first of light."

So 2011 has started out pretty darn great as well! So, please raise a glass with me as I toast: "Here is to you, your passions, your plight, and human conditions. May they bring you faith, hope, love and inner-strength. May the rhythm of your hearts and music in your souls sing loudly and proudly. And, if they stumble or stutter, may those around you help to lift you back up as you would do for those around you!"

Blessings Abundant,

Hello All! Right now I'm diggin' on photographers. Another one has started using my music on her site. She is a phenomenal photographer and I am also lucky enough to call her a friend. Her name is Bree Ross and her website is HERE. If you are in New Mexico, you must call her for all of your photography needs. Her heart will guide you exactly where you need to be and her talent will capture every moment of it with class and elegance. I am very proud of her and her family, go Bree!!

Updates:

1) Web Store: I am still working out some of the bugs before I take it live. I want to make sure everything works as expected. So, my new goal is October 1. And yes, there will be a big promotion once it goes live!

2) NEW Gallery: After many years with the same, boring gallery... it has finally been updated. There are now lots of photos of trips, me, and miscellany. I can now update it with ease and the total overhaul of the application was well worth it!

3) I am also overhauling the mailing list newsletter application. Instead if it being separate from the main website, it will be integrated. This will take awhile, but it will be well worth it. It will also add a lot of functionality and sport a great new html look as well! Prepare for a few "test" emails .

4) Integration for fans: Soon, you'll be able to log in to, change/modify settings, view purchases etc. and have a profile to comment on the website as well. This is the ultimate goal that I am trying to get to. When I sent the survey out some time ago, consolidation and user logins were the only questions that received a 100% yes vote. So, I am dedicated to make it all a reality... it just may be awhile yet

5) I will also be dealing with Facebook. I'm not sure if I am going to make an artist page, or use the one I have. Nonetheless, when I make that decision, I'll make sure to have audio samples up promptly.

6) YouTube: Yes, I will also get video's up and running... later... probably Christmas time. I have implemented the functionality on the website when it's ready, so that is a positive. But, with everything else being worked on, it's going to be awhile yet.

7) Album: It is still in the adding instrumentation phase. It will probably be there this whole month of September. Cross your fingers and send good wishes that I can complete everything with enough gusto to ensure that my new CD releases before Christmas! Worst case scenario: Valentine's Day 2010...

Thank you all for your continued support and don't forget to spread the word about my music. I'm looking forward to sharing the updated website functionality and new CD with you in the near future!

-Chad

Hello to everyone!

I hope all is well and happiness is abundant. A brilliant photographer, Teresa Sweet, wrote a very nice piece about me on her website. If you are in her area and are in need of photo's, definitely give her a call. Go to Teresa Sweet Photography to check it out. If you want to read her article on me, please click HERE (Blog Entry).

The second thing I want to go over is the "Twitter Update" postings. They were supposed to automatically generate once a month, not once a week. So, I have to figure out why. I have taken down those automatic postings for now until I can find a fix. If that is a bad idea, please contact me on my contact form below.

Web Store: There is movement! I'm actually hoping to have a beta of it up sometime in August and hopefully done by September.

Album: It is off to instrumentation. August is the month that I hope to have all the instrumentation done on my songs. Then, September is the plan for me to record the piano parts again in the studio and for the mixes to be completed. Finally, I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that the album will be mastered and off to manufacturing in early October so it can be officially released some Tuesday in November. This will be difficult because my studio is also working on a couple of projects as well as mine... so there will be long, long hours. Best case though would find the CD being released in October... wouldn't that be awesome?!

* I will be having a CD Release concert in Colorado. But, more on that when I can see the CD project's fruition in sight and can plan dates accordingly * My YouTube channel will have video's hopefully very soon * Facebook will be updated to have my music posted on my profile * and I have an "Idea" that I will share with everyone which I'll need feedback on! So, stay tuned!!

What can I say... other than WOW! The free CD promotion in just 7 days gave almost 2000 CD's away. The first few days were manageable and then BAM= We were receiving orders at a rate of almost 1 per minute. Then the huge backlog ensued. When we took the website down on the weekend, we thought there would be some CD's left. Then, by Tuesday of this week, we performed an inventory and realized that we were sold out early Saturday, June 6.

Based on web traffic and other factors before the promotion, I figured it would potentially take a month to give the CD's out. We had lined up some businesses to help shipping and promotion starting in July. They were shocked that we already sold out and now really want to work with us in the future when we do more promotions!

BUT... when checking out the server logs, cafemom.com was all over the place! Doing more research, I found out my friend from college posted an entry on her account there, and like wildfire, it spread the forums and landed on journals. In fact, the response was so huge that when googleing "chad beall", an amazing journal entry about my music was posted and landed on #3 in the search! WOW! Just in case it ever moves down in the ranking, here is the journal entry. (I hope "Lb128f" doesn't mind me linking to her article I don't have an account and I haven't been able to get to the orders to search for her.

What can I say? I am extremely blessed and am excited to hear more from all of those who ordered the CD's. I am planning on writing everyone back that sent me a personal message as soon as I can as well.

A huge thank you goes out to cafemom.com and my friend Kristi for posting there and ultimately, it leading to a wildfire of responses from amazingly awesome individuals that I hope I can get to know better. A thank you also goes out to everyone that helped, especially my parents and girlfriend for putting in long hours with the crew to get the CD's out as quickly as possible. Below is a picture that was taken of me after working on orders long into the night where I grabbed some tape and put it over my mouth... then my girlfriend decided to draw a nice look onto it. Enjoy!

Finally,

I am in the studio working on pre-production. I've got my song list which is posted below. Now, I'm just setting up the tempo tracks, making instrument decisions on each song, auditioning vocalists in Denver and Nashville for the lyrical songs, finalizing lyrics and being very excited about this album!

So, this is technically my third album, but really it's my second. The Salus CD is basically a "band" between Todd Kelly and myself. We lock ourselves in the studio and just record off the top of our heads and get some very fascinating creative results. So, this is my second "solo" CD. I'm very pleased with the music and am looking forward to how it will sound once recording starts happening (guestimating 1 month or so from now).

So, the album will be called, "The Space In Between." The track names are listed alphabetically below:

All on the Line

As Good As It Get's

Believe In Me

By Surprise

Falling

In Your Eyes

Moments

Never Forget

RainFall

The Space In Between

Whatever It Takes

You Just Know

I'm sure those who have been to my concerts recognize a few songs, and see plenty more they haven't heard yet! So, stay tuned!
