Anyway, the after party was a blast. About 15 people from the concert went with us down to "Goro Sushi" restaurant and ate. Of course, the sushi was AMAZING, the sake as TASTY and we had a piano there for any musician to play. I played about 3-4 songs, Todd Kelly played 3-4 songs, Bob Baker played 1 and David Lanz played 2.

Rosemary Butler was there as well and I got to joke around with her and take some funny pictures! All in all, what a great night and I will write about it more in depth a little later when I have the video and pictures to go along! I'm so motivated after these concerts, now on to get my next album recorded! Woo Hoo!

The second thing I want to go over is the "Twitter Update" postings. They were supposed to automatically generate once a month, not once a week. So, I have to figure out why. I have taken down those automatic postings for now until I can find a fix. If that is a bad idea, please contact me on my contact form below.

Web Store: There is movement! I'm actually hoping to have a beta of it up sometime in August and hopefully done by September.

Album: It is off to instrumentation. August is the month that I hope to have all the instrumentation done on my songs. Then, September is the plan for me to record the piano parts again in the studio and for the mixes to be completed. Finally, I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that the album will be mastered and off to manufacturing in early October so it can be officially released some Tuesday in November. This will be difficult because my studio is also working on a couple of projects as well as mine... so there will be long, long hours. Best case though would find the CD being released in October... wouldn't that be awesome?!

I am in the studio working on pre-production. I've got my song list which is posted below. Now, I'm just setting up the tempo tracks, making instrument decisions on each song, auditioning vocalists in Denver and Nashville for the lyrical songs, finalizing lyrics and being very excited about this album!

So, this is technically my third album, but really it's my second. The Salus CD is basically a "band" between Todd Kelly and myself. We lock ourselves in the studio and just record off the top of our heads and get some very fascinating creative results. So, this is my second "solo" CD. I'm very pleased with the music and am looking forward to how it will sound once recording starts happening (guestimating 1 month or so from now).

So, the album will be called, "The Space In Between." The track names are listed alphabetically below:

The concert was great! We sold out the show and had to actually add chairs. At that time, I was feeling really ill and during the concert had a few "oh crap, am I going to throw up..." moments. Luckily, they passed and all was well. My vocalists rocked! Nikki is perfect for the song "Falling" (coming on next cd) and Stacey sang "When I'm With You" unbelievably well. I was so happy hearing my music sung by such amazing talents. Thanks gals!

The dinner was unbelievable. We actually had a deal with "Goro's Sushi" in Denver that gave 15% off to those who attended the concert. The turnout was great and the food was even better. One lucky person who attended both the concert and the dinner will win a $25 gift certificate to Goro's as well when we draw for it later this week.

Unfortunately, I've been fighting a mean cold since then and have been out of commission. But, I'm planning on having a cellist to add to the concert and actually having another show sometime April/June. And, I have entered the studio for my next album! My goal is to have it ready by the end of 2009.

Back to earth. I hope I'm ready for these warm up concerts coming up. It's incredibly challenging to be prepared to play the music just as it is... but to set up a whole show and get the timing of jokes down etc etc is fairly daunting. But, that is why the first few concerts are warm ups in front of friends and family. I also want to try some new things out: jokes, song order's, me singing (oye) and really bring everything up a notch.

It's just nice getting out there again even though I'm anxious about it. The time away has been nice, but I much prefer being in the game.

Finally, the website will be getting a much needed overhaul within the next 4-12 months so that is great. Keep your fingers crossed as I hope to restock Dedications and record my second album within that same time frame as well.

It's unbelievably hard being single in your 30's. The dating game is an about-face to what it was 10 years ago and you're stuck juggling life's experiences and discerning between biases. But, it is also a lesson in humility. I started out trying to bypass the infatuation stage and asked the hard questions and tried to force the hard questions to be asked. Safe to say, I have come off quite abrasive. That just sucks. So, in my attempt to get the heart of the matter as quickly as possible in hopes not to waste any time... I successfully have wasted a ton of time and ultimately put my worst foot forward. Although the intentions have been paved in gold, the reality is I was being an idiot!

So, I have woken up, smelled the cement and realized why would anyone bypass one of the best parts of any relationship? Maybe subconsciously I wasn't ready... although I don't really believe that; but, I wanted to try a different approach. To bad it was so awful!

The good news is that I am starting to get my concert dates starting again! I took a very long, albeit necessary break from doing concerts, but I'm glad to have my focus back.

I have also recorded some very great artists... one a Grammy winning pianist! I'm sure I'll talk about that more in subsequent emails, but safe to say the experiences have been life changing! As far as my second album, I have all the material and need to get the studio time to get all the tracks down. I'm hoping I'll have something next year.

Finally, I wanted to write to let everyone know who much you all mean to me. Thanks for your friendship, fanship, and all that's in between.
