Around 1999-2000, while working with my promoter, we googled my name to see what it showed. At the time, I was nowhere to be found. However, there was a “Chad Beall” in Colorado who played guitar for a band named “Turnsol.” So, my promoter said one of the first things we needed to do was to kick him off of the front page. And with my marching orders, I began the journey. I hired web developers at the time to 1: make my website and 2: make me take over the front page with Search Engine Optimization. Within the year, the goal was accomplished. Now, I'm on sites that I didn't even know existed = pretty cool. In that year, I moved on and basically forgot all about it – band name and all.
Flash forward about 7-8 years.
I met a guy, Fred, who now has become one my good friends. He was 38 and having massive heart problems. So massive, that at his young age... had a full on heart transplant. I got to know him basically right after the ordeal and we began to reminisce about our lives. He said he was in a band and played with a “Chad Beall.” It took a couple of times, but I finally realized, it was THE “Chad Beall” in THE band “Turnsol” and I had become good friends with the lead singer! On June28th, “Turnsol” gave its last performance ever. They are now creating a new band that you'll know about once they have something going! But, nonetheless at the concert, the 2 Chad Beall's met. Fred and I joked that it would be a sign of the apocalypse once we shook hands. Luckily, not so much. The other Chad Beall is a bad ass guitar player and creates tones which gave Turnsol a distinctive sound. The whole band was awesome and could picture all of the stories in more detail that Fred speaks of so fondly. I couldn't believe how long he could hold a note and realized how good Turnsol was/is and how close they were to making it bigger about the same time I was in the same position. I hope their next band is a success and look forward to jamming with them. Maybe the other Chad and I should create a band, “The Real Chad Beall.” Ok, that's lame, but had to say it.
For those who can, please give to DONATE LIFE and make sure to let your friends & family know you want to be an organ donor... as well as putting it on your driver's license. Thanks!
