My Amazing Great Aunt
I wish I could convey in a letter, through my words, with a gift, by a touch or with a glance how important you are, have been, and always will be in my life. You taught me how to smile: you taught me how to laugh. You made me realize that life isn't about the matter of consequences or the day to day monotony.
Life is about each other, and sharing in one another all of the good and bad times. Life is about summing up who you are every time you laugh. Life is about physically manifesting a tear in the greatest symbolic gesture of happiness and sadness. Life is about keeping everyone in your heart, no matter how full it becomes. And I have been your student, taking every note and reminding myself to always remember the lessons you have taught me.
You single handedly kept my family together. You're the only person that has ever stopped my mom, even if only for a brief moment, from driving herself literally up a wall. You gave my father the best role model in the world that made up for his gone astray mom. You have given my brother the reason to fight for everything and never give up. And me, Lucille, you have given me everything.
There is no possible anything that I could ask for, hope for, want or need from you. I hope that I can give to you and everyone in my life any fraction of what I have received… and that would be a victory if I could ever accomplish such a task. And I hope I can be just a small fraction of who you are… and if I accomplish that, I would be the luckiest, happiest person in the world – next to you. You are my foundation of who I am and who I want to be.
I Love you more then love itself. You are an Angel, sent from heaven above. And everyone who has ever come into contact with you has been blessed by God himself. And now, even God is blessed to have you by his side.
Lucille, you are my direction and endless pursuit to be a better man. Thank you. I Love You.
